On November 3, 2024 Tropical Storm Yinxing (known as Marce in the Philippines) formed in the western Pacific Ocean. The next day, the storm strengthened into a typhoon. Yinxing made landfall in the northern Philippines island of Luzon as a category four storm near Santa Ana, Cagayan. The storm then crossed the Babuyan Channel and made a second landfall on Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. After crossing the complex terrain of Luzon, the storm weakened some as it continued westward over the South China Sea. Yinxing regained some strength before weakening again. On November 12, 2024, Yinxing made landfall in Vietnam near the city of Quy Nhon as a tropical depression.
