Western Alaska Floods

Over the weekend of October 11-12, 2025, the remnants of Typhoon Halong brought hurricane-force winds, storm surge, and coastal flooding to western Alaska.

This storm system delivered devastating floods to coastal towns and villages in the region. It subsequently led to hundreds of people being evacuated, which included one of the largest airlifts in Alaska history.
