Early April Tornado Outbreak

Starting in the last days of March 2025, consecutive days of severe weather thrashed the US through the first week of April, including a high risk for parts of the Mississippi and Ohio river valleys on April 2, 2025.

During the first week of April, many tornadic supercells broke out across several states in the Central US.

The biggest impacts came from the life-threatening flooding in parts of the Mid-South and Midwest due to the constant storms and precipitation. This lead to the rising levels of waterways across the region, including the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. Towns and communities in states such as Kentucky became completely inundated.
