Hurricane Erick

Hurricane Erick formed in the Eastern Pacific Ocean basin on June 17, 2025, just off the southern coast of Mexico.

A day later, Erick underwent rapid intensification and strengthened into Category 4 storm with winds of 145 mph (230 km/hr). Erick made landfall in western Oaxaca, Mexico early on June 19 as a Category 3 storm.

Hurricane Erick is the earliest major hurricane to make landfall on Mexico’s Pacific coast in recorded history.
