Mid-May Severe Weather

From the Great Lakes region to the Southern US, back-to-back upper-level systems deliver severe weather across North America, producing all types of severe hazards.

The North and East regions of the United States were threatened with severe rainstorms and flood warnings, and the Midwest and South-Central parts of the country saw hundreds of thousands being placed under a severe thunderstorm warning May 24.

The Southeast region of the country, rain fell in some regions upwards of 1 inch per hour, and caused an accumulated total of 2 inches of rain in nearly a dozen states along the Eastern seaboard.
