GOES-19 First Light

On August 30, 2024, GOES-19 sent back its first views of Earth after launching into orbit on June 25.

On October 1, 2024 GOES-19’s ABI instrument was given the “beta” declaration and imagery is now available to the public. During the beta phase, GOES-19 data is preliminary and non-operational.

Below are numerous marvelous views that GOES-19 has seen over the last few weeks. More details about early imagery from GOES-19 can be found on the Satellite Liaison Blog.
