Tropical Cyclone Hidaya

Hidaya was a tropical cyclone in the south-west Indian Ocean.

Hidaya was the strongest tropical storm ever recorded in the Tanzania area, contributing to flooding in the region when it made landfall on May 4.

Heavy rainfall and high winds were expected from Hidaya. Wind speeds from Hidaya measured around the same as a Category 1 hurricane, at 150 km/h on May 3.
