Nesat was a typhoon in the Western Pacific basin.
Nesat formed on October 14th, 2022 northeast of the Philippine island of Luzon. Nesat went on to bring torrential rains in northern Luzon triggering flash floods and mudslides.
Nesat moved into the South China Sea and strengthened into a typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. On October 17th, Nesat peaked in intensity with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph.
As Nesat tracked west, it gradually weakened and became a tropical depression off the coast of Vietnam.
