Hurricane Margot

Hurricane Margot

Margot was a hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean basin.

Margot formed on Sept. 7 and remained a hurricane midwater throughout the week. It never made landfall directly, and sent swells to the Portuguese archipelago of Azores.

The cyclone lost strength following the swells, and dissipated by Sept. 10.

Margot was one of three active storm cycles in the Atlantic, including Hurricane Lee and Hurricane Nigel.
