Typhoon Gaemi

Gaemi formed as a tropical depression in the Philippine Sea on July 19th, 2024 and strengthened into a tropical storm on July 20th.

On July 22nd, Gaemi became a typhoon as it approached the island of Taiwan, and in the following 24 hours, it quickly strengthened into a super typhoon.

Gaemi made landfall on Taiwan on July 24th, and landfall again on China on July 25th.

Flooding from Typhoon Gaemi caused evacuations in China, while the heavy rainfall also lead to a deadly mudslide.
