Tropical Cyclone Gamane

Tropical Cyclone Gamane formed on March 25, 2024 in the western Indian Ocean. Two days later, Cyclone Gamane peaked in intensity with sustained winds of 90 mph (40 m/s). Shortly thereafter, Gamane made landfall in northern Madagascar ushering in heavy rain and strong winds to the island country. After landfall, Gamane quickly weakened while interacting with the mountainous terrain of northern Madagascar. On March 28, Gamane dissipated into a remnant low.

Tropical Cyclone Gamane was responsible for 19 deaths and the displacement of over 2,000 residents.
