Early January Nor’easter

A nor’easter brought significant snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic US to kick off the first week of 2024.

The system started out as a mid-latitude cyclone in the central US, bringing showers, stormsa, and winter weather to the region as well as to the southern US.

As it reached the east coast, it stretched up and down the seaboard. While the the nor’easter impacted the Northeast US, the tail end of the system caused severe storms that created a tornado in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
