Hurricane Lorena

Lorena was a hurricane in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Lorena formed as a tropical storm on September 2, 2025, being upgraded to a hurricane the next day.

Lorena brought tropical storm-force winds and heavy rainfall to Baja California Sur, with initial forecasts predicting up to 15 inches (38 cm) of precipitation for portions of the state.

Lorena stayed close to the peninsula, dissipating before it could make landfall. The moisture from Lorena’s remnants then brought heavy rainfall to the states of Baja California and Sonora, as well as the Southwest US.
