Gifford Fire
The Gifford fire ignited in the Los Padres National Forest in Southern California on August 1, 2025. Three people were injured as the fire grew rapidly in size during the following days, so far becoming California’s largest wildfire of 2025. The Gifford fire blazed near the burn scar of the fully contained Madre fire, which burned in the same area less than a month prior and scorched over 80,000 acres.
On September 28, 2025, the Gifford fire was declared 100% contained, burning 131,614 acres in size. For more information, visit the InciWeb page or the Cal Fire page on the fire.
