Tropical Storm Sara
Sara was a tropical storm in the Caribbean Sea that formed on November 14th, 2024.
Tropical Storm Sara developed near the coast of Honduras, with its center only 50 miles from the shoreline.
Sara stuck close to the coast of Honduras, delivering heavy rainfall to parts of Central America, threatening several countries with the risk of flooding and mudslides. Sara’s slow movement allowed for up to 20 inches of rain to fall in Honduras by November 15th, 2024.
After making landfall in Belize on November 17th, 2024, Sara weakened to a tropical depression. By the time it emerged in the Bay of Campeche on the other side of the Yucatan Peninsula, Sara had dissipated. Its remnants were forecast to bring heavy rainfall to parts of the US Gulf Coast.
