Tropical Storm Alberto

Tropical Storm Alberto was a weak tropical cyclone that formed in the Bay of Campeche. Alberto brought flooding rains to Mexico and southern Texas before weakening. The remnants continued across Mexico.

Alberto formed on June 19, 2024 as the first named system of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Alberto Makes Landfall in Mexico

Description:

Tropical Storm Alberto made landfall early this morning near Tampico, Mexico.

Alberto was downgraded to a tropical depression as it moved inland, where it continues to bring heavy rainfall and flooding up through portions of southern Texas.

Potential Tropical Cyclone One Moves Through Western Gulf of Mexico

Description:

Thunderstorms boil around the center of circulation of Potential Tropical Cyclone One in the western Gulf of Mexico. The disturbance is currently moving towards the coast of Mexico as tropical storm warnings are in effect up to the South Texas coast. This system will be named Alberto if upgraded.

Invest 91L Simmers in the Bay of Campeche

Description:

Invest 91L simmers in the Bay of Campeche of the Gulf of Mexico, where it is bringing heavy rainfall to portions of Mexico and Central America. This disturbance will likely evolve into a tropical disturbance or a tropical storm over the next couple of days, where it will become the first named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
