Hurricane Lidia

Lidia was a major hurricane in the Eastern Pacific Ocean basin.

Lidia made landfall in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico as a Category 4 storm, with wind speeds up to 140 mph on Oct. 10.

Lidia rapidly intensified on Oct. 9, gaining strength from a tropical storm to a Category 4 hurricane in just one day.  Lidia moved inland wind speeds decreased to 70 mph and continued to loose strength on Oct. 11 and 12.

Hurricane Lidia shuttered schools in Puerta Vallarta, and one man was killed by a falling tree, and two others were injured.
